Bouquet Care & Posting Guide
I can’t wait to receive your wedding blooms! Please follow the steps in this guide to make sure that your flowers arrive in the best condition possible for creating a beautiful cast. I highly recommend that you get everything you need for posting before your wedding day - that way you will be able to enjoy your incredible day without having to worry about it.
After the ceremony
Place your bouquet in fresh water as soon as possible after the ceremony / photographs. Protect it from any damage, and when you can - trim the stems ever so slightly (keep the length of the stems as much as possible). Keep your flowers in fresh water (changed daily) in a cool room, away from direct sunlight, until they are ready to be posted or dropped off. Please DON’T spray them with water. If you can - include additional flowers from the centrepieces etc, to give me the best and freshest selection for pressing. The more the better! If the weather isn’t kind and it rains on your wedding day, or on the drop off day, please protect your blooms with an umbrella, a bag or foil over them when outside, as moisture on the petals or inside of the flowers will transfer onto the clay.

What to prepare
cardboard box (no larger than 46cm x 46cm x 60cm), newspaper / tissue paper, secateurs / scissors, kitchen roll & water, 2 elastic bands, sandwich bag, marker pen, pen & paper, tape, my address (included in your booking confirmation email).
-
Step 1
Get a cardboard box that will fit your flowers - no larger than 46cm x 46cm x 60cm. Visibly mark each side with ’THIS WAY UP’ and an arrow pointing upward.
-
Step 2
Fill the bottom of the box with scrunched up paper / tissue paper, leaving a hole in the middle for the flower stems. Please don’t use bubble wrap or plastic wrap, as it doesn’t allow the air to circulate in the box.
-
Step 3
REMOVE ANYTHING VALUABLE OR ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP FROM YOUR BOUQUET.
Make sure your flowers are securely fastened together around their stems with an elastic band. Trim the stems at the ends a little (as little as possible) if you need to, so they’re fresh and so the bouquet can fit in the box.
-
Step 4
Wet a bunch of kitchen roll sheets and wrap them around the bottom of the stems, to keep them hydrated. Make sure they’re not wrapped around the flowers, the blooms need to stay moisture free. DON’T spray your flowers with water.
-
Step 5
Place the bottom of the stems, covered in wet kitchen roll, in a plastic sandwich bag. Secure it tightly with an elastic band around the stems, above the kitchen roll, to prevent it from leaking in the box. Please make sure only the stems are in the bag, NOT the flowers.
-
Step 6
Wrap your bouquet lightly in paper / tissue paper, to protect the flowers from bruising. Please make sure you don’t bend or break any flowers.
-
Step 7
Carefully place your flowers upright in the box (placing your bouquet on its side would bruise & damage your flowers). Secure the sides with more scrunched up paper / tissue paper if needed, making sure the flowers are not squashed, but are not wobbling / moving in the box either.
-
Step 8
Place your contact details in the box, so I know who the flowers belong to (I receive multiple deliveries on some days).
Close the box, seal it securely with tape and write visibly ‘FRESH FLOWERS’ on the top of the box. Write my address.
(Please note that fresh flowers are classified as perishable goods when posted, therefore they won’t be eligible for compensation.)
-
Step 9
Ta-da! Your flowers are ready for posting! Take the box to your local post office before the last collection - which will be sooner than the closing time. Post it with Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery - Before 1pm Service. This should cost about £18. (My address is included in your booking confirmation email.)
Please email me the tracking number after posting your flowers.
When your flowers arrive, I’ll be in touch to let you know that they’re safely with me.
